Art Museum of South Texas
The Mission of the South Texas Institute for the Arts (the Institute), doing business as the Art Museum of South Texas, is to operate educational facilities and an art museum which advance the awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts for residents and visitors of South Texas.

Texas Maritime Museum
Discover Texas state’s rich maritime history, from the early days of exploration and settlement by the Spanish and French to the modern search for oil. At the state’s official maritime museum, explore the long and varied story along the more than 300 miles of Texas coast. See a large collection of antique outboard motors, a fishing exhibit, and original watercolors of Texas lighthouses by artist Harold Phenix.

Fulton Mansion State Historic Site
Rising above the Aransas Bay and surrounded by stately live oaks, Fulton Mansion State Historic Site is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton. The house must have appeared incredible in 1877, as it does today, with its mansard roof and ornate trim. Interior gas lighting, flush-toilets, and other refinements were progressive and luxurious elements for this part of Texas history.

Goose Island Park
Located north of the city of Rockport on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The park covers 321.4 acres (130 ha). Goose Island offers camping, fishing and birding along St. Charles and Aransas bays, north of Corpus Christi.

Texas State Aquarium
One of the top 10 aquariums in the United States, the Texas State Aquarium is a big tourist attraction in Corpus Christi. With the new Caribbean Journey expansion, which doubled the size of the original facility, the aquarium offers a full-immersion experience into Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula and the Western Caribbean Sea.

USS Lexington Museum
The USS LEXINGTON, CV-16, is a World War II-vintage Essex Class aircraft carrier that’s been turned into a museum, delighting visitors of all ages. A MEGAtheater (similar to IMAX) was added in the forward aircraft elevator space. Lexington was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2003. The ship is carefully maintained, and areas of the ship previously off-limits are becoming open to the public every few years. One of the most recent examples of this is the catapult room.

Texas SandFest
Texas SandFest is the largest native-sand sculpture competition in the USA. What began as a small local competition in 1997 has grown into an internationally recognized three-day family event that draws renowned sand sculptors and tens of thousands of visitors from around the world each year to Port Aransas. Texas SandFest attendees enjoy amazing sand sculptures, food, live music, kids’ activities and shopping for arts & crafts, apparel, jewelry, furniture, souvenirs and more.

The HummerBird Celebration
The HummerBird Celebration is an annual event held each September in the charming and friendly coastal towns of Rockport and Fulton. The purpose is to celebrate the spectacular fall migration of the Ruby-throated hummingbird through the area. The Celebration is fun, educational and inspiring. There is something for everyone and it’s designed for those who just enjoy birds to the more experienced birder. If you enjoy nature, or some aspect of it, then this event is for you.

Shrimporee Festival
The Largest Shrimp Festival in Texas, on second weekend of June, the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce presents live music, culinary treats, crazy contests, a parade, shopping at more than 130 arts and crafts vendors, and other fun activities.

Rockport Art Fest, Rockport
The Art Festival was founded in 1969 as a way to stimulate the Arts economy in Rockport, TX, an emerging art colony on the Texas Coast. Since then, it has become a staple of the Summer season on the coast – over 120+ artists sell their work to over 10,000+ art buyers.
Rockport Art Festival also serves as a fundraiser for Rockport Center for the Arts. Proceeds go towards creating and sustaining the many free to low-cost programs hosted by Rockport Center for the Arts year-round.
