WHY WE INVEST IN THE LONESTAR STATE

As the temperatures start to drop, the snowbirds have begun migrating South for the winter. Good thing we have a place for them to land! Although some wouldn’t think that Texas would be an ideal market for RV resorts, we believe otherwise. Offering diverse landscapes with warm temperatures year-round, the Lonestar state is perfect for rea I estate investments and apparently the ultimate winter escape for northerners!

Don’t just take our word for it, check out Good Sam’s annual, Welcome Snowbirds, list of Sun Belt stays. Featuring the top cities far from winter blues, this year’s edition promoted both Austin and Port Aransas. Luckily, we have several locations in both regions, offering a wide range of options for our winter Texans! These guests don’t just stimulate the economy, they’ve become the center of our community and the heart of our parks. Their impact stretches far beyond our reach and has shaped the state’s economic structure over the years.

ECONOMIC IMPACTS

According to Travel Texas and their 2019 data collection. Port Aransas saw annual earnings of “$243 million generated by tourism spending”. Additionally, Austin witnessed “$8.2 billion in spending during the previous year”.

Since travel is the second highest export-oriented industry for Texas, these snowbirds are a blessing to have, especially during the off-season.

Furthermore. accommodations and food are the highest yielding revenue categories which bodes well for our properties. Even though campgrounds only make around “2% of the total accommodations in Texas”, our investments have turned quite a profit. Where hotels and vacations rentals typically see a lull during the winter months, our locations are packed with guests.

Although we only have these guests for a few months. they’ve become a large part of our community. Some states may scoff at snowbirds and place year-round residents as a priority, but here in Texas we celebrate these travelers.

Besides just stimulating the economy, they bring excitement to the area and ignite locals to discover enjoyment in regional activities (which is something ever town could use).

So, we can’t say this enough but thank you. Winter Texans! You help us in more ways than you know and are always welcome here in the Lonestar state.
